Airlines have advice for UK tourists regarding check-in at airports when travelling to and from destinations in Turkey

Jet2 has shared an important travel message for anyone going on holiday to Turkey. Millions of people visit Turkey each year, including many from the UK.
One Jet2 customer travelling to the country asked a question on social media platform X to clarify a check-in matter. They said: “Are your app based boarding cards accepted at Antalya airport or do I need to check in manually?”
Jet2 responded: “Hi Chris, we can’t offer online check-in for flights departing from Turkey. You can still complete the process and get your pre-allocated seats, but you’ll need to visit our airport check-in desks to collect your boarding pass before you go to security. I hope this helps.” This comes as easyJet issued an update for tourists who have May 2026 holidays booked, as reported by ChronicleLive.
The Jet2 check in desk at Antalya Airport (AYT) opens 2.5 hours before departure. The check-in desk will close strictly 40 minutes before departure. All Jet2.com flights depart from Antalya Airport Terminal 2.
On its website, easyJet has also shared a reminder to passengers about boarding passes when travelling to and from countries such as Turkey, reports the Liverpool Echo. It said: “The majority of our airports accept mobile boarding passes however, the airports listed below do not currently accept mobile boarding passes.”

Guidance said: “If you’re flying from an airport that doesn’t currently accept mobile boarding passes, please check in online at www.easyJet.com and print out a paper boarding pass for your flight. Many of these airports require all passengers to complete a document check before going to security. If travelling from an affected airport, please make sure you, and anyone you’re travelling with goes to our Bag Drop for a document check before going through security.”
Last year, Ryanair moved to 100% Digital Boarding Passes. This means all passengers will receive a Digital Boarding Pass to their Ryanair App when they check-in online. Online check-in can be completed on Ryanair.com or on the Ryanair App.
According to the airline it lowers airport costs and fares for all Ryanair passengers and provides a better service for customers on day of travel. The airline added: “Check-in online on Ryanair.com or Ryanair App prior to arriving at airport. After check-in your DBP will appear automatically in your Ryanair App. Present your DBP at airport security & at the boarding gate for your flight.”
